Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact for NOP and NOP-like students and their parents
- Providing professional, efficient and effective emotional and psychological support to the students
- Advises and disseminates information to the NOP and NOP-like students over policies and administrative procedures concerning undergraduates, to ensure that they are interpreted and implemented with consistency;
- Provides broad guidance and counsel over live issues faced by students, redirects to relevant resource from faculty or staff in terms of academic advisement and monitors this feedback
- Identifies the need for professional counseling and redirects the students to the counselor and follows up for re-dressal
- Helps the students to prepare applications for TA ships and other assorted temporary employment on campus
- Arrange for sustained training and workshop sessions for these students to assure their smooth transition and an even playing field with other peers on campus
- Prepares and distributes agendas, minutes and documentation for all relevant committees and meetings;
- Provides support to the NOP Coaching initiative as deemed fit by the Director OSA
- Development and distribution of consistent paraphernalia to address developing concerns with regard to these students.
- Ensure that all university content related to the NOP undergraduate program in all publications including the web is consistent and accurate.
- Responsible for coordinating the effort in the annual update of the undergraduate student handbook.
- Setting up a viable Academic Progress and Feedback system for NOP and NOP-like students, and using the data to identify problem areas and advise solution to students
- Work closely with the CSO to arrange placement of such students on jobs or provide for options over higher studies
- Assuring sustained reporting of all counseling activities on monthly basis in terms of the format agreed and assigned by Director, OSA for the purpose
- Maintaining updated and interactive database for all student counseling;
- Recommending value adds towards improved counseling and other adjunct faculties within LUMS
- Assisting Psychology students from LUMS in their relevant academics and graduating requirements.
Requirements:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in relevant discipline from an HEC recognized institution;
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience;
- Strong communication and analytical skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office; and
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
