Description

I am a recent graduate from Northwestern University, holding a BSc. (Hon’s) degree in Communication and a certificate in Civic Engagement. While I have concentrated on media research and filmmaking during my time at college, I became exceedingly involved with multimedia journalism as well. I produced a documentary with Al Jazeera English’s Witness program, titled ” Pakistan: No Place Like Home”. I also received a grant from the Pulitzer Center in Washington, DC and produced a multimedia project on the inefficiency of the death penalty system in Pakistan. The documentary was recently awarded the Region5 Mark of Excellence Award by the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists. I have interned with Al Jazeera English’s social videos team and have produced content for their NewsGrid program as well. I have also co-authored a research paper on issues with developing an internal fan base for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and my paper was published by a journal after I presented it the Sport4 conference in Oxford University. I have been involved with public speaking for almost 10 years, whether it was in the form of public speaking at school assemblies, or international MUNs and parliamentary debating competitions in college. I have even worked as a RJ at the WNUR-FM Evanston-Chicago, a student-run radio channel in Chicago, US. I believe that my experiences have greatly enhanced my academic qualifications and hope that my future employment experiences can help me progress further within my areas of interest and expertise.
