Dear Sir/Madam, I am interested in applying for Bioinformatics position in your institution. I would like to apply for this particular position because the mandatory experience and skills which you have mentioned match with my qualification and experience. I have been working in different areas of genomics and evolution which included data management, Galaxy administration, HPC cluster Administration and Analysis of WGS, WES, Transcriptomics, Metatranscriptomics, Metagenomics, long read sequencing data (Pacbio and nanopore), Small RNA-Seq data analysis in Plants, Amlicon sequencing, phylogenetic analysis and cancer genomics data during my past assignments. From the beginning, I was a person with a flair for reasoning, I was always interested in knowing the reason behind particular things which surround us. It is this inquisitiveness that further persuaded me to tread in the field of life sciences as mysteries behind the process which collectively yield “life”. Eventually, I opted for Biology background during my school. During under graduation, I opted for major in Bioinformatics, which can be succinctly described as a blend of informatics approaches to solve biological problems. I took the course, because I knew that this course would not only provide me with a platform to broaden my understanding about the complex biological problems but also help me to acquire required skills for providing solutions to these problems using computational, statistical, logical and mathematical approaches. I have worked on different assignments during Bachelors, Masters and working at different places as a Researcher and have been a part of few publications. Undergraduate thesis was on Analysis of Regulatory Regions of the genes expressed in eye causing retinitis pigmentosa. In this project bioinformatics software is used to analyse the transcription factors which were known to be expressed together to cause retinitis pigmentosa, which broadened my understanding regarding the use of bioinformatics analysis. I also worked in Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) as a Research Associate. I gained a lot of wet lab experience in Molecular biology lab and performed DNA extraction, running PCR, Genotyping and other molecular biology techniques. I did my Masters from Uppsala University, Sweden. My interest in genomics data analysis increased by studying and working in the number of areas in genomics and evolution. I have performed the final thesis project on Adaptive evolution in Birds and learned pipeline development, phylogenetics, gene enrichment analysis. After finishing my thesis, I started working as a research assistant and started developing my skills further. I have worked on different assignments such as bioinformatics analysis of capnocytophaga species and learned assembly, mapping, annotation, and other programming tasks. I have also worked in another metagenomics group to perform bioinformatics analysis of bacteriodetes from marine and freshwater. I also worked as an instructor of bioinformatics to help students with bioinformatics and to take labs for undergraduates in Bioinformatics, Molecular biology and cell biology. After that, I also did analysis of cancer genomics data and learned how to do SNPs analysis, WGS and WES analysis. Recently, I am working at INRAE from past 2 years where I have been working with Amplicon and Metranscriptomics data of animal sciences for the first assignment for 15 months and then another 12 months I have been working with plant genomics and I have been analysing small RNA-Seq data which includes miRNA and siRNA data analysis. Recently I joined IRBI at University of Tours where I am resposible for HPC cluster administration and OMICS data analysis from all platform. I have been analysing data from Pacbio and nanopore. I would like to express my zeal and eagerness to join this position. I am interested in genomics data analysis. I have a lot of experience in OMICS data analysis from all platforms along with good programming and web development skills. I also have administration experience with Galaxy platform and HPC Cluster which I think is quite important when you are working with biologist.In my view, dedication and determination are the keys for a successful and fruitful research.
