About
This is Muhammad Umair a graduate student of chemical engineering from the oldest institute of chemical engineering University of the Punjab, Lahore.
, I belong to some of the underprivileged areas of south Punjab Vehari. I think that there was no chemical engineer in my family and village so I thought that why not be the first one? During my F.sc pre-engineering, I just made up my mind that I will do engineering. After that, I have got admission to Chemical engineering. On orientation day, I got selected as a class representative on merit. This was a challenging position for me. First time, I took the responsibility of the whole class to set a good example to others.
This opportunity highlights that I am viewed as being responsible and has taught me how to address challenging situations. I am driven by always doing the best I can and have received great feedback about my enthusiastic style, responsibility, dedication, and being proactive. I served four years as a class representative. I have to interact with teachers, students, and other faculty members to execute all the proceedings of the course. So that thing excels my interpersonal skills and enabled me to perform under stress. I enjoy it a lot and then started to develop a keen interest in chemical engineering.
During graduation, I did my 4 weeks internship at the biggest Pakistani multinational Oil and Gas Company which is known as OGDCL. It’s an eye-opening experience for me.
Also, I did 3 months Amal Career-Prep fellowship. It’s an Education start-up funded by Stanford University that teaches professional skills to students and corporations. I have completed a competitive written application and interview process to be selected from over 4600 applicants for an intensive Amal fellowship. Investing 150 hours in order to develop interpersonal skills like leadership, problem-solving, strategic thinking, teamwork, etc. that will help me make a more profound impact on my career and job.
Currently, I’m doing a job right after my graduation at one of the largest company Pakistan Accumulators (pvt) Limited. These experiences helped me gain knowledge and excel my skills in order to develop my career.
