Mehwish Iqbal

Respected Sir, I am looking for the research faculty position and putting forward this letter to show my Intension for the same.  I am very keen to work and extremely interested in this position. I Mehwish Iqbal, recently completed my Ph.D. in biomedical sciences (Major: Biochemistry and Molecular biology) from college of medicine and health sciences UAE University, UAE. I have scored highest CGPA in my batch (4.00/4.00). Currently I am working as a research associate at the UAE university, UAE, and willing to relocate back to Pakistan. My Ph.D. Project Title was “Investigating the role of fun30, a chromatin remodeler, in DNA repair.” I have gained expertise in cell culture and different molecular biological techniques. My research work focused on genetic, epigenetic, and DNA repair processes in yeast cell. Apart from the research skills, I have good presentation and writing skills. I have designed different research projects and one of my projects was rewarded UPAR grant in 2018. Grant title was “Investigating the role of Fun30, a Chromatin remodeler, in maintaining heterochromatin and its significance in DNA repair”. I am also actively involved in procurement management of the lab. I have taught and trained some of undergraduate students and summer trainees in molecular biology techniques.   I have completed my MS degree in Molecular Genetics from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT)  Islamabad,  Pakistan  with  excellent  success  I  completed  my  courses and top My Batch by obtaining highest CGPA 3.93/4. During my studies and work I have gained expertise in various techniques including Microsoft office, Microsoft world and excel, Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), Co- immunoprecipitation, Molecular Cloning, Confocal microscopy, Immunohistochemistry, SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting, Real Time PCR, Tandem Affinity Purification, Yeast strain construction (Tagging, deletion of genes using Delitto Perfetto), Yeast Transformations, Split-GFP assay. GraphPad prism, tissue and cell culture techniques I am looking forward to a  position;  a  pursuit  of  career  in  research and academia,  experience  of  excitement  and satisfaction  of  being  interested  at  the  forefront  of  this  vast  expanding  field.  Based on my academic knowledge and experience, I believe that I have the capability, and potential to take this position.
