Profile:

Maliha Sami Hussain, a Senior Journalist, Social Activist, Digital Expert, Media & PR Consultant and an Educationist. Graduate of KC Lahore, a motivated professional; worked in public and private sector educational & media institutions since 2001. Participated in several TV talk shows on social, educational, environmental, Gender based programs in different channels. Giving media consultancy for awareness rising campaigns throughout Pakistan to media houses and local NGO’s.

Worked on Newsletters and media/press briefs/international level research reports/blogs/articles as well. Visited many countries i.e. India, Iraq, Qatar, Dubai, Turkey, Sri Lanka, UK, Nepal worldwide for attending different Educational conferences, workshops, seminars and trainings and for the purpose of presenting media research papers/guest participation. Visited University of Kufa (IRAQ) in April for media discussions, educational research paper presentation.

Job Experience:

§  Currently, working as ‘Director Communications & PR’ at NUR International University Lahore, Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing (SWCON) and FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IAHS) in NUR FMS System since January 2020 till date. Supervising Head Communications and PR for Fatima Memorial Hospital and Fatima Memorial College of Medicine and Dentistry as well.  Heading events, publications, academic activities and promotional activities as Head in all five institutions as Group Head of Communications & PR. Managing the Vice Chancellor office as an Additional Charge. Tasks including multi-tasking i.e. organizing events, promotions, FB Sessions, report writing, issuance of NIU Newsletter, organizing Convocations, Media Management and all media and publication activities for all Group Institutions of NUR FMS Systems.

§  Worked as ‘Communication Specialist’ at Public Private Partnership Cell, Planning and Development Board, Government of Punjab from January 2017- December 2018. Designed overall Communication Strategy for PPP Cell. Develop and issue press statements and media campaigns, arranged large scale events/expo/press briefings, Issuing PPP Cell Newsletter/Annual Reports and other Publications. Attended meetings with international donor agencies/NGOs at Planning & Development Department (P&D).

§  Worked as ‘Communication & Program Manager’ in Shield Pakistan Social Media Project (ISPR) from December 2014 – June 2016. Directly reporting to Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa (Ex DG-ISPR, GHQ) on the project. Shield Pakistan was a social media youth forum projected the positive image of Pakistan through sessions, trainings and seminars. Worked as Head of Social Media team in Lahore, Headed Cyber Cell, developing and managing social media network content.

§  Worked as ‘Lecturer’ at Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) University of the Punjab from September 2008 – November 2013. I have been teaching different subjects of News Techniques, Sociology, Gender and Media, Public Relations and Advertising, Gender Studies and Introduction to Broadcast Media.

§  Worked at GEO TV Network, Lahore as ‘Assistant Producer’ since 2003-2005 in Infotainment Department. I have worked various on talk shows. Expertise includes coordination, pre-production, post production; shoot plan, audience management, editing and final cut of each episode of the program. Have experience of production and post-production of programs, editing, videos & documentaries.

§  Worked at Daily The Nation as ‘Sub-Editor’ from January 2001 – February 2002 as Editor of Young World Magazine and have written many articles on social, political and human rights issues in the newspaper.
