The collection phase of the credit cycle covers accounts that have failed to make one or more contractual payments, i-e they have become delinquent and are in default of their contractual obligations to repay.  The collection phase also covers pre-delinquent accounts under pre-emptive strategy with an objective to reduce the flow of accounts into delinquent buckets.
