Dear Concerned, Being an accounting and finance major at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), I have been looking for the perfect internship at an Oil Marketing Company (OMC) for the last one-and-a-half year. My prayers were answered when I came across your internship program  and the intern eligibility criteria immediately caught my attention because my experience and interests paralleled your needs. I believe that the difference between success and failure all boils down to the decisions you make; one terrible decision can push you five years back. Using what I have learned from my own experiences managing portfolio investments, analyzing market trends, and the financial position of companies, I plan on helping others grow their business ventures. During last summers, after extensive research, I invested my savings into a diverse, negatively correlated investments portfolio and got a 20% return in less than three months. Last year when my father fell ill, I administered the family business affairs for six months. During that time, I specifically emphasized on the bottom-line profits and streamlined the business, increasing semi-annual sales by 15%. Apart from financial consulting, another thing I’m incredibly passionate about is giving back to the community. I’m Director at LUMS Community Service Society. This year I organized a summer internship program (Project Bunyaad) to bridge the educational gap between privileged and underprivileged schools in Lahore and Karachi. We managed to take 250+ interns on board and impacted the lives of 1700+ students while generating 1 million PKR in revenue. I believe that traveling brings out the best in people. Right now, I’m on an exchange program at Middle East Technical University in Turkey. I’ll be in Turkey till August; thus, I can do the internship at Istanbul office as well.
