I am a BSc- Genomics and Bioinformatics graduate with experience in Data Science and Biotechnology. I have 3.7 CGPA and am set to formally graduate on the 23rd of November with a Distinction average. I have been the recipient of multiple academic awards throughout my academic career as highlighted in my resume.  I’ve worked with different teams on Science presentations for symposiums, conducted bioinformatics research on species delineation of unknown samples and assisted with various genomics related lab research. I have ample experience with both dry and wet lab processes and have worked with multiple programming languages such Python, R, HTML, CSS etc. I am also capable of working in a UNIX environment which I used during my  bioinformatics research project that involved a de-novo assembly pipeline to identify and delineate the species of three unknown bacterial strains. The pipeline included quality checks on raw reads, trimming, de novo assembly, annotation, phylogenetic analysis and statistical analysis of average nucleotide identity, tetranucleotide usage patterns and genome-genome distance calculations. During my coursework, I also identified three misclassified strains in NCBI database for Pseudomonas nitroreducens. For my genomics related coursework, I conducted genomic analysis of agronomic traits in weedy rice using genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS). Aside from academics, I have also gained experience in areas of marketing to secure sponsorships when I served as External Relations Subcommittee for Monash University Student Association and when I worked as Marketing Director for inter-collegiate events. I have also worked in administrative positions when I volunteered as a social worker for 6 months at a school in a remote village and when I served as the student body president for a year at my college.
