Now looking to further an already successful career by working to support and help the general running of the dietetic service in the management of oral nutrition of patients referred to the service under guidance and supervision from the Registered Dietitian. I aim to coordinate the discharge of patients home enteral tube feeding. I am willing to join the main area of work by assisting patients who are having difficulty meeting their nutritional requirements from food alone. I can oversee and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to promote nutritional information as well as increase and ensure nutritional intake through appropriate therapeutic meal provision. I am educated to Level 7 Masters in Medicine, Health & Public Policy as well as a Level 6 BSc (Hons) in Nutrition. I speak and write legible, native and fluent English that meets the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil this job role. I have reliable IT skills i.e. extensive knowledge of using Microsoft Office Packages/Office 365, Access databases, Teams, and Zoom. I bring numeracy skills ranging from MS-Excel to performing advanced statistical commands on STATA and IBM-SPSS. I have worked with both people within the healthcare sector and people within the office administrative environment. Some of my current duties are to assist and manage tasks for a maintenance firm that provide services to various care homes nationwide. I have also gained experience with the care home assessment team that assesses service users for hospitals and within the last 3 months I have helped assess 28 service users/patients. Based on my previous employment history: I can report to supervising Dietitian. I can liaise with all dietitians, administration staff, catering staff and housekeeping staff within the department. I can communicate with nursing staff and members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and I can liaise with community-based services including GP's and nurses. Based on my employment-based skills and competencies; I endeavour to ensure the strengths and maintenance of AKUH values through working as a trainee Dietitian and in offering a quality nutritional care package to designated patient groups' e.g. elderly medicine, oncology, and renal satellite dialysis units and wards. I bring the enthusiasm to support the dietitian in the provision of nutritional service to patients who are referred by the medical and nursing staff for oral nutrition support e.g. completion of diet sheets, food record charts, reviewing food record charts and provision of oral nutritional supplements. I can perform this because I am a BDA certified 'Attendee of Dietetics Career' events since 2017 that were organised and sponsored by King's College London and Nutricia (Tube Feeding Experts). Hence not only that I can provide assistance with enteral feeding but I can also communicate information comprehensively to patients, their carers' and/or their relatives. I am willing to learn and enhance these skills further to help assist with dietetic assessments and analyses. Based on my education-based skills and competencies; I can perform all the main tasks and responsibilities required for this job role. For instance, I can screen inappropriate referrals to the Dietitian, by ensuring nutritional screening tools are completed and patient is red on assessment tool. I endeavour to refer to the dietitian if patient is at risk of malnutrition in line with the nutritional screening tool. I can provide general nutritional support to patients and offer written information to patients as required i.e. oncology, older patients. I can perform all this because I am a qualified Nutritionist and bring an innovative regime towards verbal and written communication with patients. I can use my personal nutritional knowledge and that of dietitian(s) to encourage nutritional intake of patients. I can assist the Nutrition and Dietetic service in providing a quality service to relevant patients in line with departmental guidelines, policies, procedures and standards. I am known to the local area of Acton, Paddington, Marylebone and Hammersmith. I drive and/or I can avail Transport for London (TfL) services to commute to any of the five hospitals. I bring good time management and organisational skills as I am both punctual and articulate. Hence I will not let the department/hospital down with lateness, laziness or uninformed absence.
