Profile Brief Aimen Khan has an extensive and diverse experience of over 12 years of electronic media and the development sector. She is an alumna of the world’s prestigious missionary school, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Murree. Ms. Khan completed her post graduate in Defence & Strategic Studies from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.   Electronic Media/Free Lance Columnist Being associated with the electronic media, Ms. Khan produced and directed a number of leading news and current affairs prime time programmes. She has a vast experience of news gathering, analysis and producing news related content. She is also a free-lance columnist and has contributed for various leading English newspapers of Pakistan like The News, Nation and Express Tribune etc.   Managing Regional Dialogues (Track 1.5 & Track II Dialogues between Pakistan and India and Pakistan and Afghanistan) since 2013 Ms. Khan has worked for the development sector and handled and implemented various strategic projects- most pertinent among these were on peace building and preventing conflicts especially in the South Asian region. She has been associated from 2013 in the implementation and enhancement of regional connectivity by working on strategic dialogue processes between Pakistan and India and Pakistan and Afghanistan. While working as a Programme Manager for Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development & Transparency (PILDAT), Ms. Khan was leading and implementing these projects under the Conflict Pool of the British High Commission that focused mainly on track 1.5 dialogues between Parliamentarians of Pakistan and India and Pakistan and Afghanistan. Carrying forward this, she is currently working as Pakistan programme coordinator diplomacy at Saferworld to help and coordinate track II dialogue processes between strategic interlocutors of Pakistan, India and Afghanistan. This is a process to assist the three Governments in shaping policies and also encouraging them for peace building, conflict resolution and encouraging people-to-people contact.   Other Project including Civil-Military Dialogue & Youth Parliament Pakistan She has also worked on various other strategic projects such as Civil-Military Dialogues in Pakistan, Rule of Law, Strengthening legislative processes in Pakistan, Alternate Dispute Resolution- access to justice, Youth Parliament Pakistan and Youth Provincial Assembly Punjab primarily working on Countering Violent Extremism in the Punjab province.   Experience of Project Management, Research & Planning &Design Ms. Khan has expertise in Research, Projects Planning and Design, Project Management, logistics & Coordination of a variety of initiatives including international and regional Parliamentary Dialogues, briefing sessions for national and international Parliamentarians and policymakers, workshops for political parties on improving Civil-Military Relations, and Internal Democracy of Political Parties. She has extensive experience of coordinating with national and international legislators and policy makers, media and managing logistics of local, national and international events. She was also associated with Oxfam Pakistan as Media and Advocacy Officer. Analysis of democratic, political and security situation of Pakistan and the South Asian Region Ms. Khan also worked as a consultant for Management Systems International for USAID project PERFORM. As programme analyst, she analyzed the pre-election trends in Pakistan. She was also able to conduct the first ever national conference on protecting minority rights in Sindh, Pakistan under the project Our Girls, Our Pride.
