Overview
The post is based at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore, Pakistan.
The candidate is expected to provide expertise in the day to day management of cancer patients with ophthalmologic issues in the outpatient and inpatient settings. This individual is expected to carry out EUA, enucleations and implants for children with retinoblastomas. The post-holder will also be expected to advise colleagues caring for cancer patients with ophthalmologic issues on the optimal management and treatment of such illness. The appointee will be expected to work with and support the established multidisciplinary site specific team. Although there is no regular on-call commitment, the appointee is expected to be available for occasional out-of-hours consultation.
Eligibility Criteria:
The appointee will be expected to be able to provide evidence of at least three years of overseas training in Ophthalmology and will be expected to have one of the following qualifications.
- FRCS in Ophthalmology or
- American Boards in Surgery, with sub-specialty boards in Ophthalmology.
- Full Registration with the PMDC is expected.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
