Roles and Responsibilities:
Media Relations Officer should have a fair knowledge of the university cultures and value system besides having an insight about the key promoting area. The person would act as a connecting pin between the university and the media. He/she will write and edit press releases, send out emails. The main goal is to get coverage from media on different events or happenings within the university. In some cases, they don’t want coverage and will merely send out press releases to the media to keep the facts straight. The person should be capable to move to the advertising agencies and media offices in order to maintain a good liaison with them to ensure a better image for the university.
