Overview

State Bank of Pakistan’s Library caters to the information needs and reading requirements of employees of the Bank and other external users like students, researchers and professionals for reference and consultation. The library also provides online subscription facility to its members. In order to manage library resources efficiently and provide quality service to all the stakeholders, SBP is looking for high caliber and dynamic professionals interested in a stable but exciting career and willing to make a difference through excellence.

The incumbent would be responsible:

  • To process/renew requisitions of subscriptions of journals, magazines, newspapers, budgets, and gazettes, etc.
  • Look after routine work such as call of quotations from vendors, approvals of the library committee, ordering to suitable suppliers, coordination for timely payments and inventory management.
  • To liaison with the companies listed in Karachi Stock Exchange, Commercial Banks and different Central Banks for obtaining complementary copies of their publications.
  • To monitor supply of periodical issues and claiming missing issues (if any) from the vendors.
  • To perform indexing of articles from selected journals/magazines.
  • To compile dictionary of acronyms using the terms that come across while indexing.
  • To examine authenticity of periodical records entered into LMINS through reconciliation with the physical records.
  • To manage timely binding of back volumes of selected national dailies, journals, magazines, banks/companies reports, budgets, gazettes and other periodical literature.
  • To compile monthly Current Contents Bulletin and extend reference/research assistance to library patrons.
  • To maintain accurate, systematic and tidy display of periodical holdings on shelves.

Eligibility Criteria
Education
Masters degree in library science or a related discipline from HEC recognized University.
Age
Maximum 35 years. Relaxation may be allowed in case of highly qualified and more experienced candidates.
Experience
Must have at least 05 years professional work experience in a research library setting.
Relaxation may be allowed for candidates having versatile experience or higher qualification.
Compensation Package
Market based negotiable salary package within the approved scale commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.

Staff Loans & other benefits, facilities and allowances as admissible under New Compensation & Benefits Structure as per SBP’s rules.
