Job Description
The client, large Automotive Group in Qatar, are looking for the Head of Equity Accounting and External Reporting.
Key activities
• Timely development and implementation of evolving models and processes that incorporate the interpretation of relevant agreements between shareholders and other partners in client entities and enable appropriate allocation of all revenues, expenses and related financial reporting
• Timely and accurate preparation of statutory financial statements and other financial reports and statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Quality and timely advice in respect of the financial implications for client of Joint Venture and other fiscal agreements.
• Effective management of Section.
Activities:
•Lead and manage the team responsible for all aspects of:
- profit centre reporting
- preparation of annual and interim financial statements
• Interpret agreements to develop and maintain the complex financial models required to account for shareholders in the various operational activities
• Manage the preparation of complex monthly Profit Centre” financial reports
• Plan and control the preparation and distribution of financial reports and statements in accordance with IFRS standards to all concerned external parties, including supporting notes and supplemental information.
• Interpretation of all agreements to which client is party, ensuring the incorporation of their provisions in the content of complete and comprehensive financial reports.
• Manage the provision of the financial reporting input to the preliminary and year-end audit of all external financial statements.
• Explain financial data and processes to internal, external and shareholder auditors and discuss the implementation of auditing and reporting standards as required.
• Communicate to shareholders all accounting issues and their proposed treatments and implement any resulting shareholder reporting requirements.
• Meet all monthly, quarterly and annual external reporting requirements for shareholders, lending institutions and statutory authorities.
• Prepare various reports and presentations for the Board of Directors and Shareholders.
• Recommend changes/improvements to financial systems and to financial policies and procedures as required.
• Provide input into the developments of internal financial controls and ensure control gaps in financial reporting processes are identified and resolved.
