Minimum Requirements
Masters in English or Social Sciences with at least two years professional writing experience which may include writing proposals to institutional donors, grant writing or technical writing experience. Should have proven experience with common office software.
Job Summary
The Grant Writer is responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to seek, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to funding agencies. This includes compiling, writing and editing grant applications, as well as developing templates to streamline the grant proposal process.
Job Description
• Performs prospect research on funding agencies to evaluate prospects for grant applications.
• Coordinates within or outside PIPH on projects that relate to them to obtain necessary information for proposals/grants and applications, under the guidance and direction of Director Public Health Interventions.
• Works with finance to gather information necessary to report to funding agencies on grant programs.
• Develops and prepares proposals and grant applications according to guidelines; complies with all grant reporting as required by donors.
• Provides stewardship to current donors.
• Acquires and maintains sound knowledge of the organization, and uses that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs for which grants will be sought and to recommend the seeking of grants.
• Plans and schedules appointments for advocacy with potential donors.
• Maintains master calendar for all grant activity, to include submitted proposals and grant requests; maintains current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
• Tracks statistics relevant to development and provides department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship.
• Works with the funding agencies to provide development input for all written institutional materials (including Annual Reports, Progress Reports etc).
• Assists with other fundraising projects as requested.

Reports to: Director Public Health Interventions Unit of PIPH and/or to the in-charge of the unit/organization specifically deputed to during the period of deputation.
