Director Finance LUMS Job in Lahore
Position Purpose: Director Finance is responsible for planning and controlling financial resources and budgeting. She/he is also responsible for maintaining books of accounts according to requirements of LUMS and USAID and responsible for reporting to USAID as per requirement of Cooperative Agreement.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation of budget and submit the annual budget
- Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures and adhere to the terms and provisions of the agreement with the donor.
- Implement and monitor payment authority practices
- Establish and maintain internal controls and recommend corrective actions as and when necessary
- Provide monthly management and expenditures reports including standard accounting submissions as well as other financial information in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare rolling estimates, variance analyses and other required reports
- Preparation of financial reports as per USAID requirements eg: -quarterly financial report, liquidation report, status of funds report annual foreign tax report, quarterly accrual report.
- Liaison with banks
- Liaise with Agreement Officer and Financial Analyst for smooth execution of project activities
- Supervise and guide to staff for the maintenance of asset register
- Prepare the financial data for quarterly and annual progress reports
- Prepare the request for the further obligation of funds
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly and yearly Fund Accountability Statement
- Act as focal person for the external audit
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Education, Qualification & Skills Required:
- ACCA/ACMA/ACA
- Minimum 10 years of finance related experience knowledge of donor funded projects will be an added advantage
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Willing to work late hours (if required)
- Willing to travel (if required)
- Good computer and database management skills.
- Command over MS office.
- Good communications skills
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting and financial principles
- Data management and report generation
