DIRECTOR COMMUNICATION & DEVELOPMENT LUMS JOB IN LAHORE

The Communication & Development Director will be working closely with donors as well as establishing strong external and internal communication. The Director will ensure activities related to communications are carried as planned. The Director will also look into taking initiatives to move forward and delivering the overall goals. The position oversees all organisational publications as well. In addition, Communication & Development Director also has the responsibility for producing online publications, website maintenance, social networking and developing new communication initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

Managing of Alumni, Fundraising & Development:

  • Create and implement annual development plan and strategy
  • Lead and manage the development team efforts to raise the set target every year
  • Lead other development staff to support fundraising and networking efforts
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate & foundation sponsors, and individual donors
  • Write grant proposals and reports to corporate, foundation, and government funders.
  • Develop and grow our individual donor base; manage annual giving campaign; cultivate major gifts
  • Structuring, planning and budgeting for fundraising unit
  • Development of promotional material to solicit scholarships, endowment funds, chair funds, etc;
  • Production of fundraising promotional materials/newsletters as required
  • Developing and managing website from fundraising viewpoint and ensure its potential as a fundraising tool is maximized

Managing marketing of programmes offered by LUMS and developing internal communication:

  • Develop and implement a communication plans that includes strategies and benchmarks
  • Strategize and plan operations of marketing, external relations and communications
  • Develop strategic plans according to the vision of university’s leadership
  • Develop and design publications
  • Create and monitor guidelines of LUMS branding
  • Coordinate in developing strategies
  • Maintain online calendars of upcoming meetings and programme events
  • Develop and ensure distribution of online newsletter and brochures
  • Market undergraduate and graduate academic programmes through print and social media
  • Determine communications priorities and forecast resource needs
  • Develop specific communication tools and made institutional presentations to visiting foreign and local dignitaries.
  • Identify potential donors

Managing of web-based communication:

  • Design and maintain website and explore other online communications strategies
  • Work with the IT based publication systems and database
  • Implement outreach and promotional campaigns and strategies
  • Cultivate media contacts and place stories in print, broadcast, blogs and other online sources
  • Create a strategy and oversee implementation of an active LUMS presence within social media platforms
  • Produce online and print publications and other outreach & informational materials
  • Ensure that the website remains current by conducting regular content audits
  • Develop annual and long-term communications strategies

Providing organised general administrative support:

  • Leading, supervising, monitoring, motivating and developing the communications team
  • Manage grants tracking and financial reporting deadlines, assist in the development and submission of grants and financial reports
  • Coordinating and ensuring that contracts and payments are executed promptly and appropriately
  • Sharing general administrative responsibilities and organising work as needed

Requirements

  • Strong communications and social networking expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about communication and outreach strategies
  • Knowledge of communications and database management software, web development/design/maintenance, common computer programmes and online web tools
  • Ability to establish priorities, maintain a variety of projects and activities simultaneously, and thoroughly complete work in accurate and timely manner
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience with significant experience at Head level
  • Masters or a four-year Bachelors degree from HEC recognised institute
