The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities.
The Pulmonary & Critical Care Section of the Department of Medicine provides state-of-the-art facilities for the management of pulmonary disease. The section has highly qualified pulmonary physicians and maintains a close liaison with the cardiothoracic surgical team. The Section serves patients with tuberculosis, asthma, pneumonia, chronic lung disease, lung tumors, respiratory failure and sleep apnoea. Special expertise is available in the evaluation of patients with sleep apnoea and non-invasive ventilation. Staff members are experienced in fibreoptic bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy and other specialized procedures. Members of the section trained in Critical Care Medicine also contribute to the running of the Medical ICU.

Responsibilities
The Candidate will be expected to have independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.
Requirements
The appointees must have completed a structured postgraduate training program in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine, and possess FCPS, MRCP, American Board or equivalent qualification. Formal training in Pulmonary Medicine is essential. Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least 8 years of teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized university or postgraduate institution and evidence of substantial scholarly activity. Applicants for Assistant Professor should have at least 2-3 years’ experience as Senior Instructor/equivalent in a reputable institution.
