Epidemiologist PIPH Job in Peshawar
Minimum Requirements
HEC recognized MPH/MSPH/MS majoring in epidemiology and/or biostatistics and 5 years of teaching/research experience in an academic setting with evidence of published work.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Epidemiology or Biostatistics; PhD in Public Health with concentration in epidemiology or biostatistics, or an HEC/CEPH accredited MPH/MSPH/MS majoring in epidemiology or biostatistics plus substantial public health training and research experience required.
a) Five years total experience in the field of public health.
b) A demonstrated record of research and teaching in relevant public health discipline.
c) Evidence or high potential for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.
d) Strong preference will be given to experience in conducting extramurally funded research.
Job Summary
Responsible for leading the epidemiological aspects of academic, service, and research related activities of the institute, including teaching of epidemiology and biostatistics in academic programs of PIPH and Prime Foundation. S/he will also be expected to actively collaborate with institute’s research investigators.
Job Description
a) Teach public health courses in general, and epidemiology and biostatistics in specific, for postgraduate programs at PIPH.
b) Support other instructional needs like those related to basic and advanced principles in epidemiology, research methods, field epidemiology, risk assessment, statistical software and applications, basic and advanced biostatistics methods, community-based research, and clinical trials.
c) When feasible, collaborate with Prime Foundation’s research investigators in public health and/or medical, dental and nursing fields of study.
d) Conduct research in public health epidemiology and biostatistics, and global health.
e) Prepare grant proposals and academic evaluative reports.
f) Enhance and implement the relevant courses’ design, delivery, and assessment for postgraduate programs and short courses.
g) Involve in mentoring of both Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students.
h) Secondarily assist in teaching community health sciences at undergraduate level in Peshawar Medical College on mutually convenient and agreed basis.
i) Participate in the institute’s ongoing quality improvement and assessment programs to ensure that the institute fulfils its mission and vision.
j) Performs related responsibilities as required.
