Job Description

Content and Community Lead at the LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship is broadly responsible for promoting the activities and incubatees of the LCE in electronic, print and social media in collaboration with the Marketing Manager as well as building/managing the online/offline communities of incubatees, mentors and investors. The job reports directly to the Executive Director of LCE.

Specific job responsibilities include:

1. Content creation – writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and frequent content for social media channels. Collaborating with students and other societies to develop video content for the center

2. Social media marketing – creating, managing and growing LCE’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Flickr and other strategically relevant online properties

3. Events and event planning – attending entrepreneurship related events in the country (sometimes outside of 9-5 hours) and planning meetups for the entrepreneurial community

4. Public relations – collaborating with the PR agency and/or marketing manager to handle incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns

5. Community building – building or using existing online/offline community collaboration platforms for managing communities of incubatees of the center, its mentors and investors. Constantly network with community members and identify community champions. Train and empower Community Champions to participate on a more significant engagement level.

6. Community relations – managing queries and support requests to the center coming in through various channels (phone, e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) and monitors discussions, resource postings, and trends within the community. Identifies and reports trends in usage and advises on potential opportunities. Alerts center management and appropriate staff as issues arise and work with staff to resolve issues.

7. Communications/marketing strategy – collaborating with the Marketing Manager for creating strategic marketing/communications plans for the center’s public-facing communications

8. Analytics – using Facebook and Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on engagement metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing any new initiatives

9. Marketing collaboration – works with Marketing Manager to develop and implement community promotion and engagement strategies and tactics as they relate to the center’s strategic goals. Communicates and promotes new community features or procedures to members, staff, mentors and investors

10. Fund raising – collaborating with the LUMS marketing department to develop content for fund raising collateral, writing donor proposals, and assisting the marketing manager to execute fund raising campaigns

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in building and managing communities online and offline. Excellent English and Urdu verbal and content writing skills are a must. If the candidate is already published in any of the leading newspapers or online blogs, it will be considered a big plus. At least Bachelors degree from an English medium institution is required. Event planning and public relations background is a nice to have for the position as well. Fund raising experience will be considered a big plus.
