Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible to:
- participate in the development and delivery of the new curriculum and its assessment methods
- coordinate the activity for the making of integrated examination questions with all participating members
- organize and lead question review sessions, where needed
- assist in the day to day administration of teaching related issues, such as record keeping, review the process of exam questions and set up exam papers, etc.
- conform to University’s policies and establish performance norms for evaluation of student’s course participants by ensuring that this is based on fair and equitable parameters, and provide required feedback to students for the some on timely basis
- engage in research with special emphasis on collaborative projects
- write articles on assigned projects for professional journals under the supervision of the senior faculty; and pursue publication of the same
- assist senior faculty member mentor for research projects including collecting designing research instruments and collecting and analysing data
- develop academic papers, reports on assigned projects in consultation with the supervisor within timeframe identified
- participate/support in meetings and sessions with stakeholders in the schools as assigned by the supervisor
- participate in teaching related activities for other programmes and follow-up activities related to the area of work/assignment.
Requirements
The candidates should have:
- MBBS with at least one year of postgraduate experience and some research / teaching experience. MBBS with MPhil. or M.Sc. from an international university will be highly preferred
- strong teaching skills and familiarity with latest teaching and research methodologies and practices
- strong conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) in English and Urdu language
- proficiency in use of computer software packages and applications.
