Overview

Agha Khan Volunteer Services

The Aga Khan University Hospital is strongly supported by services offered by dedicated and highly-motivated volunteers as part of its elaborate voluntary services initiative. Since the initiation of the Hospital’s Volunteer Services Programme in 1987, 7,300 volunteers have complemented services offered in various clinical and administrative departments of the Hospital.

Volunteers come from all walks of life, committing to a minimum service of 300 hours (4 months) each at least. Besides the main Hospital campus on Stadium Road, volunteers have the option of working in outreach hospitals in Kharadar, Karimabad, Garden and Hyderabad.

Along with assisting employees in the discharge of their duties, the Volunteer Services Department also runs the Gift, Flower and Tuck shops, proceeds of which go to the Patient Welfare Fund to treat deserving patients.
